Discipleship
"And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some
as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of
the body of Christ;
until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son
of God,
to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of
Christ."
Ephesians 4:11-13 (NASB)

The biblical model for discipleship can be traced
directly from the ministry of Jesus Christ Himself as He developed close
relationships with His disciples in order to teach them "life on life."
Here at New Hope, we employ a program called REACH in which new
Christians are partnered with growing Christians within the fellowship
of the church in a one-on-one mentor relationship. Over a period
of seven weeks of Bible study, new believers are taught what it means to
be a child of God, how God's children function within His family (the
church), and many other important principles of the Christian's life
that may not be as easily assimilated in a group or classroom setting.
We want to do our part to fulfill the mandate of Christ as found in His
Word.
"We proclaim Him, admonishing every man
and teaching every man with all wisdom,
so that we may present
every man complete in Christ."
Colossians 1:28 (NASB) |
