About New Hope

"Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment."  I Corinthians 1:10 (NASB)

Why does this church exist?
The purpose of this church is summarized in a single sentence based on two key passages of Scripture:
"We believe that a great commitment to the great Commandment and the great Commission will grow a great Church."

The Great Commandment: "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"  And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'  "This is the great and foremost commandment.  "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'  "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."
Matthew 22:36-40 (NASB)

The Great Commission: "Having gone, therefore, make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always , even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 (NASB)

WORSHIP:
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.  'God is spirit , and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.' " John 4:23-24 (NASB)

MINISTRY:
"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35 (NASB)
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.  And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord."  "Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it." I Corinthians 12:4-5, 27 (NASB)

EVANGELISM:
"for 'WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.'  How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?" Romans 10:13-14 (NASB)

DISCIPLESHIP:
"but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." II Peter 3:18 (NASB)
"And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13 (NASB)

FELLOWSHIP:
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:23-25 (NASB)
